Hi There! My Name Is Roadie

Actually it's Rodeo named after Rodeo Drive in California, but since we're in Texas Mom says most people probably won't get that and will just think Rodeo like the Cowboys do. She says that's ok too! She calls me "Roadie" though. Mom's giving me my own page so you can read all about me but in the meantime I'd like to welcome you to the "Stone Hill Pet Resort!" It Rocks! No pun intended!
Anyway, I didn't always have such a good life. As a matter of fact on June 9th, 2008 is when my life took a turn for the worst & then the better. I know...sounds confusing...let me explain.
At 11:00 pm on 6/9/08 my previous owners decided they didn't want me anymore and threw me out of their car while they were still driving. It was right in front of the Stone Hill Pet Resort on the bridge. I landed like a ton of bricks on the hard payment.
When I hit the ground I yelped and all these other dogs not so far away also yelped. My owners sped away and then turned around and came back. Don't know why they came back....Maybe to see if I was dead. They didn't stop though they just kept going....JERKS!
The owner of Stone Hill was down by the kennel and saw the whole thing take place. She jumped in her car, opened the gate and came cruising with the brights on. I was really scared when I saw the lights coming at me again. I thought for sure they were coming back to kill me this time. The car stopped and I tried to go under the cut out of the cement on the bridge to hide. I could barely walk as it was and my face and legs were bleeding. I was in tremendous pain. My hip and leg was really messed up and I couldn't run to save my life!
I looked up and this lady was standing there. In a very soft voice she said, "Take it easy little cowboy, I'm with the good guys, I'm here to save you." She reached out her hand and I took a little whif...she smelled like vanilla. She then said..."Come on little angel let's get you fixed up." She reached down, gently picked me up and put me in her car. I smelled really bad.
We drove up this long driveway and she put me in this huge dog run under the carport. She turned on a light in the carport & turned on some music, then she ran into the stone house. She came back in a few moments with all sorts of stuff. She brought me a huge bowl of warm homemade food that she called Shepherds Pie. I never ate so fast in my life. She also brought a big fresh bowl of cool water, a huge blanket and a bunch of supplies to clean me up.
She sat on the ground with me and started examining my wounds. I hurt really bad. She started putting some clear stuff on them and I didn't like that. I put my mouth around her hand to tell her to stop. She gently took my mouth off of her, put my face in both of her hands and looked me square in the eyes and smiled. She told me it would be alright, that she wasn't going to hurt me. She told me that no one was ever gonna hurt me again. I decided to just give in and I put my head on her lap.
As she dressed my wounds she told me that I was a Little Angel that fell from the sky. I tried telling her that wasn't the case but she insisted. She told me that I was probably on a bucking bronco and got bucked off and fell down from the sky, passed all the stars and hit the Road. She said I was supposed to grab on to one of the stars and float down. And that's how I got my new name "Rodeo" a.k.a. "Roadie" and a fresh chance at a good life.
This isn't where my story ends...
It's Just the Beginning!
To Be Continued......
